Insertbore gage into valve guide then check boregage using micrometer. Replace valve guideif its diameter is more than 0.4065 inchat any point.REASSEMBLY (SHEET 2 OF 2)NOTEPerform following two steps only if valve guides (3) were removed,otherwise go to step (3) below.In following step, valve guide must protrude 0.953 inch above cylinderhead.(1)To install new valve guides (3), press valve guide part way into cylinderhead using hydraulic press. Place 13/16 inch inside diameter by 0.953inch long bushing over valve guide. Press valve guide into head until hy-draulic press ram makes contact with bushing. Check that valve guide pro-trudes 0.953 inch above cylinder head.(2) Ream guides (3) to 0.4045-0.4055 inch using reamer.4-14
