Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and don’t breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don’t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately. “If contact with skin or clothes is made. flushwithwith(1)(2)large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, was-h eyeswater and get medical aid immediately.Clean cylinder head (4) using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using cleancloths.Remove all carbon and gasket material from cylinder head (4) machinedsurfaces using clean cloth moistened with cleaning solvent P-D-680.INSPECTION/REPAIR (SHEET 1 OF 2)NOTEReplace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.(1)Inspect cylinder head (4) for cracks, fretting, or erosion.(2)Check cylinder head (4) for warpage as follows:(a) Lay straight edge diagonallyfrom corner to corner of cyl-inder head (4) bottom surface.(b) Try to insert 0.005 inchthickness gage under straightedge.(c) Reposition straight edgeacross the other two cornersof cylinder head (4) bottomsurface and repeat step (b)above. If 0.005 inch thicknessgage fits under straight edge,resurface or replace cylinderhead (4). After resurfacing,replace cylinder head ifheight is less than 4.080inches.(3) Check plugs (1 and 2) for looseness and damage.4-13
