CLEANING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made. flush
with

large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, was-h eyes
water and get medical aid immediately.
Clean cylinder head (4) using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using clean
cloths.
Remove all carbon and gasket material from cylinder head (4) machined
surfaces using clean cloth moistened with cleaning solvent P-D-680.
INSPECTION/REPAIR (SHEET 1 OF 2)
NOTE
Replace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.

Inspect cylinder head (4) for cracks, fretting, or erosion.
(2)
Check cylinder head (4) for warpage as follows:
(a) Lay straight edge diagonally
from corner to corner of cyl-
inder head (4) bottom surface.
(b) Try to insert 0.005 inch
thickness gage under straight
edge.
(c) Reposition straight edge
across the other two corners
of cylinder head (4) bottom
surface and repeat step (b)
above. If 0.005 inch thickness
gage fits under straight edge,
resurface or replace cylinder
head (4). After resurfacing,
replace cylinder head if
height is less than 4.080
inches.
(3) Check plugs (1 and 2) for looseness and damage.
