ETHER STARTING AID SYSTEM

Ether starting system is located in engine compartment on right side of machine. Ether is a flammable gas that when
injected into engine air intake system aids in starting the engine in very cold weather.

The system includes an ether canister and a solenoid valve controlled by the engine electronic control module (ECM).
When ambient temperature is below 32F (0C), a measured amount of ether is injected automatically into engine air
intake system when starting engine.

Operator DOES NOT manually inject ether.

FUSE PANEL

Panel is located on right side of machine, and is acces-
sible when right cab door is open. The fuse panel contains
fuses which protect machine's electrical circuits. It also con-
tains relays. To remove fuse panel cover, turn four thumb-
screws one quarter turn counterclockwise (to the left). Decal
on back of fuse panel cover (shown on the next page) identi-
fies fuses and relays, and their location.
