TESTING - CONTINUED
12.
After waiting 40 seconds, turn engine start switch to ON position but do not start engine. Warning indicator for brake
system should illuminate for 3 seconds while instrument panel performs start-up test. If any warning lights do not illu-
13.
Press brake pedal until pressure gage decreases to approximately 1,000 psi (16,800 kPa). Warning light on instrument
panel for low brake oil pressure should illuminate. Minimum number of brake applications is seven. If warning light
does not illuminate, replace pressure sensor.
14.
Continue pressing brake pedals after warning light for low brake pressure illuminates.
15.
Watch for rapid decrease in brake pressure.
16.
Record pressure when pressure decreases rapidly. This is approximate nitrogen precharge pressure in brake accumulator.
Proper precharge pressure of accumulators is 500 psi (3,450 kPa). If nitrogen precharge pressure is not within specifica-
tion, then go to Charging in this work package.
17.
Remove all test equipment from machine.
CHARGING
1.
Stop engine.
2.
Press brake pedal repeatedly until there is no brake pressure.
3.
Use nitrogen gas charging system to determine pressures when charging accumulators.
4.
Connect nitrogen gas charging system to dry nitrogen cylinder.
