FRONT MAIN SEAL REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

INSTALLATION
1.
Lubricate lip of new crankshaft front seal (1) with clean engine oil.
2.
Place new crankshaft front seal (1) into housing.
C AU T I O N
Ensure that lip of crankshaft front seal (that is spring loaded) is facing toward inside of front housing
and that it is square with bore of housing for crankshaft front seal. Failure to comply could cause
damage to equipment.
3.
Use front seal installer to install crankshaft front seal (1).

Remove front seal installer and apply clean engine oil on area of crankshaft pulley that will be in contact with crankshaft
front seal (1).

Run engine until correct operating temperature is reached (TM 5-3805-290-10).
8.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
9.
Check for leaks.
