REMOVAL
N OT E
Support engine with blocks or with lift-
ing equipment on flat level surface.
1.
Remove two mounting bolts (1) from top of flywheel
housing (2).
2.
Attach link bracket and lifting equipment to flywheel
housing (2).

WARN I N G
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use assistance during pro-
cedure. Ensure any lifting equipment used is in good condition and of suitable load capacity. Keep clear of
heavy parts supported only by lifting equipment. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury or
death to personnel.
N OT E
Flywheel housing weighs 70 lb (32 kg).
3.
Remove six mounting bolts (3) that attach flywheel
housing (2) to cylinder block (4).
N OT E
If necessary, hit flywheel housing with a
soft faced hammer to separate flywheel
housing from cylinder block.
4.
With assistance, use lifting equipment to remove fly-
wheel housing (2) from cylinder block (4).
