Steering system pump is an automatic piston pump which senses pressure and flow requirements. When steering
circuit is not being used, pump is at low-pressure standby.

Single highest pressure sensed flows to pressure compensator spool. This spool keeps pump output at a level nec-
essary to fulfill requirements for system flow and pressure.
