General
0007
The 924H Loader has two electronic control modules (ECMs):
engine
transmission
Each ECM has the ability to detect problems with the electrical/electronic system and with engine, transmission, or
machine operation. When an ECM detects an electrical or electronic system malfunction, the ECM will generate a
diagnostic, or event code. The diagnostic, and event codes are usually logged with the time and number of
occurrences. Diagnostic Codes may be retrieved using two methods:
On-Board diagnostics using the instrument cluster
Electronic Technician (ET)
Event Codes may only be retrieved using electronic technician (ET). This work package describes on-board
diagnostics using the instrument cluster.
Introduction
0007
The instrument cluster receives information from the transmission ECM through the CAN communication circuit.
The transmission ECM gathers information from sensors, switches, and the engine ECM to display data.
The instrument cluster displays information using the following:
Five gauges (Figure 1, Item 2)
Eighteen visual indicators (Figure 1, Item 1)
One audio action alarm
One LCD display (Figure 1, Item 3)
