Conditions Which Generate This
Malfunction Event Code
Code:
This code is generated when the trans-
mission electronic control module
(ECM) has detected a malfunction in
the steering system. This code will be
reset when the ignition switch is turned
to the OFF position.
System Response:
A warning will appear on instrument
panel; event code will be logged.
Test Step 1. Check for Active
Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0008) and
select Transmission 924H.
2. Start and run engine (TM 5-3805-
298-10).
Diagnostic Codes Are Not Active -
3. Using MSD, check for active
diagnostic codes (WP 0008).
Proceed to Test Step 2.
Diagnostic Codes Are Active - Refer
to (WP 0005) and repair active
diagnostic codes first.
Test Step 2. Test Secondary Steering
System.
1. Turn ignition switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3805-298-10) for at
least 30 seconds.
WARNING
Check area around the machine before steering machine. Ensure the
machine is clear of personnel and obstacles. Failure to follow this
warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
