Conditions Which Generate This
Temperature Event Code
Code:
The engine electronic control module
(ECM) estimates the exhaust
temperature by monitoring the ambient
air temperature, intake manifold
temperature, barometric pressure,
intake manifold pressure, and engine
speed. This protects the components
of the exhaust system from damage.
System Response:
A warning will appear on instrument
panel; event code will be logged if high
exhaust temperature is calculated.
Possible Performance Effect:
The engine ECM will derate the engine
power.
Test Step 1. Verify Symptom and
Check for Active Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD (WP 0008) and
select Transmission 924H.
2. Start and run engine (TM 5-3805-
298-10).
3. Using MSD (WP 0008), verify
Event Code E0194 Not Active -
event code E0194 is active.
Proceed to Test Step 7.
Event Code E0194 Remains Active -
Proceed to step 4.
4. Verify the engine was operating
Engine Operating Under Heavy
