Conditions Which Generate This
Temperature Event Code
Code:
The engine electronic control module
(ECM) detects the engine coolant
temperature is too high.
System Response:
E0361-1: Warning lamp on instrument
panel will be illuminated and action
alarm will activate.
E0361-2: Warning lamp on instrument
panel will be illuminated and action
alarm will activate.
E0361-3: Warning lamp on instrument
panel will be illuminated and action
alarm will pulsate.
Possible Performance Effect:
E0361-1: None.
E0361-2: Engine ECM will derate
engine power at one percent per
second.
E0361-3: Engine ECM will derate
engine power at one percent per
second.
WARNING
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns.
Before performing maintenance on engine, allow engine and components
to cool completely.
Failure to follow this warning may result in severe burns to personnel.
Test Step 1. Verify Symptom and
Check for Active Diagnostic Codes.
1. Start and run the engine
Event Code E0361 Not Active -
(TM 5-3805-298-10). Using MSD,
Proceed to Test Step 7.
select C6.6 924 (WP 0008), and
Event Code E0361 Remains Active -
verify event code E0361 is active.
Proceed to step 2.
