3. Position drain pan under machine.
4. Open valve (Figure 6, Item 3) on
fuel/water separator bowl
(Figure 6, Item 2), and drain
contents of fuel/water separator
bowl.
5. Close valve (Figure 6, Item 3) on
fuel/water separator bowl. Dispose
of drained fluid IAW local policy
and ordinances.
6. Turn battery disconnect switch to
the ON position (TM 5-3805-298-
10).
7. Activate the electric fuel priming
Fuel Prime Pump Fills Primary Fuel
pump switch (Figure 6, Item 1)
Filter - Proceed to step 8.

Fuel Prime Pump Does Not Activate
(Figure 6, Item 2) is filled with fuel;
- Diagnose fuel prime pump
continue to operate for
approximately 30 seconds and
release electric fuel priming pump
switch (TM 5-3805-298-10).
8. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to the OFF
position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
