Engine ECM detects a short to ground in the throttle hold resume/decel circuit.
Normal - Continued
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Throttle lock enable switch is faulty.
Engine wiring harness is shorted.
Lower cab wiring harness is shorted.
Engine ECM.
Test Step 1. Check for Active
Diagnostic Codes.
1. Connect MSD, select C6.6 924
2. Start engine or attempt to start
Diagnostic Code 2771-4 Active -
Proceed to Test Step 2.

using MSD to check for active
Diagnostic Code 2771-4 Not Active -
diagnostic codes (WP 0008).
Troubleshooting is complete.
Test Step 2. Test for Faulty Throttle
Lock Set/Resume Switch.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove console instrument panel
for access to wiring harness
connectors (WP 0264).
3. Disconnect connector E-C42
(WP 0012, Figure 42) from throttle
lock set switch (WP 0012,
Figure 43).
4. Keep throttle lock set switch in the
center position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
5. Using digital multimeter
Resistance 5.0 Ohms or Less -
Replace throttle lock set switch
(WP 0174), measure resistance
between throttle lock set switch
(WP 0264).
(WP 0012, Figure 43) terminal 3
Proceed to Test Step 5.
and terminal 2.
Resistance Greater Than 5.0 Ohms -
Proceed to Test Step 3.
Test Step 3. Test for Shorted Lower
Cab Wiring Harness.
1. Remove right lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
