NOTE
168-4 Powertrain Power
Supply Voltage Is Below
Always inspect wiring harness connectors that are involved in the circuit.
Normal or Shorted Low
Poor connections can often be the cause of a problem in an electrical
circuit. Verify that all connections in the circuit are clean and secure and
that all connections are in good condition. If a problem with the
connection is found, correct the problem and verify that this malfunction
or diagnostic code is active before performing this procedure.
Perform open or short-circuit test at each wiring harness connection to
identify the correct harness to replace.
Tag all wiring harnesses to aid in installation.
Perform this test only if condition is active.
DIAGNOSTIC CODE SET CONDITION
Transmission ECM detects battery voltage is below 18.0 VDC.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Battery or batteries.
Charging system.
Fuse panel.
Ground connection.
Transmission ECM.
Test Step 1. Check for Active
Diagnostic Codes.
Connect MSD, select C6.6 924, start
Diagnostic Code 168-4 Electrical
engine (TM 5-3805-298-10), and
System Voltage High Is Not Active -
check for active diagnostic codes
Troubleshooting is complete.
Diagnostic Code 168-4 Electrical
System Voltage High Remains
Active - Proceed to step 2.
Test Step 2. Test Batteries.
Perform battery testing on each battery
All Batteries Test Good - Proceed to
(WP 0165).
Test Step 3.
One or More Batteries Fail Testing -
Replace all batteries that failed testing
(WP 0281).
Proceed to Test Step 12.
