826-4 Torque Converter Oil
Temperature Sensor Voltage
Transmission ECM detects that voltage for the torque converter temperature
Is Below Normal or Shorted
sensor signal is low.
Low - Continued
POSSIBLE CAUSE
Torque converter temperature sensor is faulty.
Lower cab wiring harness is shorted to ground.
Transmission wiring harness is shorted to ground.
Transmission ECM.
Test Step 1. Check for Active
Diagnostic Codes.
Connect MSD. Select Transmission
Diagnostic Code 826-4 Active -
Proceed to Test Step 2.
924H and check for active diagnostic
codes (WP 0008).
Diagnostic Code 826-4 Not Active -
Troubleshooting is complete.
Test Step 2. Test for Faulty Torque
Converter Temperature Sensor.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove left engine access panel
(WP 0350).
3. Disconnect connector P-C9
(WP 0012, Figure 109) from torque
converter temperature sensor.
4. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch ON (TM 5-3805-
298-10).
5. Using MSD, check for active
Diagnostic Code 826-3 Torque
diagnostic codes (WP 0008).
Converter Oil Temperature Sensor
Voltage Is Above Normal Becomes
Active - Replace torque converter
temperature sensor (WP 0249)
Proceed to Test Step 5.
Diagnostic Code 826-4 Torque
Converter Oil Temperature Sensor
Voltage Is Below Normal Remains
Active - Proceed to Test Step 3.
Test Step 3. Test for Shorted Engine
Wiring Harness.
1. Remove right lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
2. Disconnect connector P-C1
(WP 0012, Figure 53) from
connector C-C15 (WP 0012,
Figure 52).
