WARNING
DO NOT perform fuel system checks, inspections, or maintenance while smoking or near
fire, flames, or sparks. Fuel may ignite.
Allow engine to cool off before performing maintenance on fuel filter. Hot metal parts can
cause severe burns. Wear eye, hand, and skin protection when working with heated parts.
Wear fuel-resistant gloves and eye protection when handling fuels. If exposed to fuel,
promptly wash exposed skin and change fuel-soaked clothing.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in damage to equipment and injury or death to
personnel.
CAUTION
Wipe area clean around fuel filter. Contamination of fuel system could result in premature
failure.
NOTE
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection,
maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid
with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any
component containing fluids.
Dispose of fluids IAW local regulations and mandates.
1. Remove filter element (Figure 1, Item 1) from third fuel filter base (Figure 1, Item 2).
