1. Remove filter element (Figure 1, Item 1) from third fuel filter base (Figure 1, item 2).

1. Clean and inspect all parts IAW Mechanical General Maintenance Instructions (WP 0172).
2. If filter element is damaged or has reached or exceeded its mandatory replacement interval (WP 0169),
replace filter element.

CAUTION
Do not fill filter element with fuel before installing on secondary fuel filter base. Fuel will not
be filtered and may contain contaminates. Contaminated fuel will result in accelerated
wear to fuel system parts and early failure of fuel system.
1. Turn filter element (Figure 1, Item 1) clockwise to install on third fuel filter base (Figure 1, Item 2).
2. Tighten filter element (Figure 1, Item 1) until seal contacts base, then tighten an additional 3/4 turn to one full
turn, and remove drain pan.
