Before starting, always make sure that all other personnel are away from the backhoe. Failure

Lower stabilizers to operating position before lowering backhoe boom and extending dipper.
Front of the BHL can raise above ground and cause an accident. Failure to comply may result
in serious injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Prior to continuing the After PMCS, do the following:
1. Start engine and raise FEL lift arms.
2. Configure the clamshell open and dozer and clamshell cutting edges on ground.
3. Lower stabilizers.
4. Disengage swing and transport lock and extend backhoe boom and dipper and
curl bucket inward.
5. Lower backhoe bucket to ground and shut engine off.
6. Toggle FEL controls to relieve hydraulic pressure.
