FEL Bucket Teeth and Cutting Edges Measurement
1. Park the BHL on level ground. Close clamshell and position bucket flat on ground.
2. Engage parking brake.
3. Shift direction control lever to neutral position.
4. Shut engine off.
5. Toggle FEL controls to relieve hydraulic pressure.
WARNING
Exercise care when measuring FEL bucket. Be sure FEL bucket is flat on ground, clamshell
is closed, and hydraulic pressure is relieved. Failure to comply may result in serious injury or
death to personnel.
NOTE
Loader cutting edge and clamshell cutting edge can be reversed one time before
replacement is required.
6. Measure bucket teeth (Dimension A, Figure 15). If measurement is 3.5 inches (8.9 cm) or less, notify
field level maintenance to replace teeth.
7. Measure clamshell cutting edge on each side of bucket (Dimension B, Figure 15). If measurement is 1
inch (2.5 cm) or less, notify field level maintenance to reverse or replace cutting edge.
8. Measure dozer cutting edge on each side of bucket (Dimension C, Figure 15). If measurement is 1 inch
(2.5 cm) or less, notify field level maintenance to replace cutting edge.
9. Measure loader cutting edge on each side of bucket (Dimension D, Figure 15). If measurement is 1 inch
(2.5 cm) or less, notify field level maintenance to reverse or replace cutting edge.
