The engine delivers power to the transmission and hydraulic pump for system operation. The 274 cu. in. (4.5 L),
4-cycle, in-line 4-cylinder diesel engine:
is liquid-cooled.
is turbocharged.
is direct injected.
CAUTION
Refer to TM 5-2420-231-10 for fueling precautions. Failure to follow this caution may
result in poor machine performance and damage to fuel system and engine.
runs on type 2 diesel fuel. Will also run on JP8; however, JP8 must be mixed with a lubrication additive.
develops 289 lb-ft (392 Nm) of torque @ 1,500 rpm and 90 horsepower (hp) @ 2,200 rpm.
