WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure.
Use caution when using adhesives and sealants. Prolonged inhalation of vapors can
cause lung irritation. Contact with skin can cause dermatitis. Wear gloves and safety
goggles and use product in a well-ventilated area away from open flame. If ingested, keep
individual calm and seek medical attention. DO NOT induce vomiting. If contact with skin
or eyes is made, flush thoroughly with water. Dispose of cleanup rags IAW local policy and
ordinances.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Flywheel housing weighs 80 lb (36 kg).
1. Using assistance, install flywheel housing (Figure 3, Item 20) on engine.
2. Apply sealant to two 12 mm x 1.75 x 120 mm bolts (Figure 3, Items 7 and 8), install bolts in flywheel housing
(Figure 3, Item 20), and hand-tighten.
3. Apply sealant to five 12 mm x 1.75 x 120 mm bolts (Figure 3, Items 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5), install bolts in flywheel
housing (Figure 3, Item 20), and hand-tighten.
4. Apply sealant to eight 10 mm x 1.50 x 40 mm bolts (Figure 3, Items 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, and 18), install
bolts in flywheel housing (Figure 3, Item 20), and hand-tighten.
5. Apply sealant to three 10 mm x 1.50 x 80 mm bolts (Figure 3, Items 6, 11, and 12), install bolts in flywheel
housing (Figure 3, Item 20), and hand-tighten.
6. Apply sealant to one 10 mm x 1.50 x 140 mm bolt (Figure 3, Item 19), install bolt in flywheel housing (Figure 3,
Item 20), and hand-tighten.
7. Tighten flywheel housing bolts and in sequence shown in Figure 3.
a. Tighten bolts 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, and 19 to 37 lb-ft (50 Nm).
b. Tighten bolts 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, and 8 to 63 lb-ft (85 Nm).
