1. Install slings and lifting device on boom cylinder.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support during
procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load
capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this
warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Boom cylinder weighs 220 lb (100 kg).
Remove caps and plugs from hydraulic fittings and hoses.
2. Using lifting device and with assistance, install boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12) on machine.
3. Lightly grease and install pin (Figure 2, Item 15), two washers (Figure 2, Item 17), and retaining rings (Figure 2,
Item 16) on boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
4. Lightly grease and install pin (Figure 2, Item 11), two washers (Figure 2, Item 10), and retaining rings (Figure 2,
Item 9) on boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
5. Remove lifting device and slings from boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
NOTE
Install fitting in position noted during removal.
6. Install new O-ring (Figure 2, Item 4) and fitting (Figure 2, Item 2) on boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12) and
tighten nut (Figure 2, Item 3).
7. Connect hose (Figure 2, Item 1) to boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
8. Install new O-ring (Figure 2, Item 8) and fitting (Figure 2, Item 6) on boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12) and
tighten nut (Figure 2, Item 7).
9. Install mount (Figure 2, Item 13) and clamp (Figure 2, Item 14) on boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
10. Connect tube (Figure 2, Item 5) to boom cylinder (Figure 2, Item 12).
