Before troubleshooting problems with the transmission, perform the following
diagnostic checks:
Engine output.
Transmission sump oil level.
Cleanliness of oil and oil filter.
Airflow through oil cooler.
Condition of all oil lines and fittings.
Condition of all wiring and connections.
Proper linkage positioning of all valves and levers.
All drive lines and mounting brackets for tightness.
1. Check for low transmission oil
