TRANSPORTATION HINTS
TYPE I AIR TRANSPORT
The Type I loader is transportable on highway,
railroad and in the air by C130, C141, and C5
aircraft. It can be air delivered from C130 aircraft
using the Low Altitude Parachute Extraction
(LAPES) or Low Velocity Air Drop (LVAD)
technique. It can also be airdropped from
C130 aircraft.
To be air transported the weight of the vehicle
must be more evenly distributed. This procedure
explains how to distribute the weight by placing
the bucket on a trailer.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
Remove bucket from machine and in-
stall on trailer.
WARNING
This procedure must be performed on
smooth level ground.
WARNING
Chock trailer wheels before loading
bucket on trailer.
1.
Remove nut from stud and remove screw
jack from the trailer.
2.
Reinstall nut on the stud.
Set screw
jack aside for later use.
3.
Remove nut and jack base plate from
trailer.
4.
Reinstall nut on capscrew.
Set jack
base plate aside for later use.
5.
Remove clip and jack handle from
trailer.
