TM 5-3805-258-24-1 4. Clean the housing base. 5. Insert a new element into the filter housing. 6. Install the filter housing into the housing base. CAUTION Be careful not to damage the thread on the filter housing or filter base, when installing the filter housing. Do not overtighten. 7. Start the engine. Apply the service brake. Use the right brake pedal only. 8. Slowly operate the transmission controls to circulate the oil. 9. Lock the transmission control lever in NEUTRAL. Inspect for leaks. 1-62
