Check oil level with transmission at oper-ating temperature (page 6-4), transmissioncontrol lever in N (neutral) and engineoperating at idle speed.a. If oil level is not between FULL andADD marks, add oil (page 6-4).NOTEOne quart of oil will raise dipstick level1/2 inch.b. If oil level is between FULL and ADDmarks, go to step 2 below.Step 2.Remove engine right side panels(page 9-14).Watch control valve assemblyvalve spool while an assistantmoves transmission control leverthrough its entire range.Movement of control valve assem-bly valve spool should be seen.a. If movement is not seen, re-p l a c e / r e p a i r c a b l e / l i n k a ge(page 6-10).b.
