Hourmeter/Tachometer (cont).REMOVAL (SHEET 2 OF 2)(2)(3)(4)CLEANING(1)(2)DryAt male end of cable (l), loosen cable nut using pliers, pull cable endfrom tachometer drive, and remove cable (1) from loader.At tachometer and hourmeter (8), loosen and remove four screws (2),s p a c e r s ( 4 ), and cover (3).Loosen and remove two nuts (5), lock washers (6), clamp (7), and tachom-eter and hourmeter (8).Clean ends of cable (1) using clean cloth only.Clean cable (1) jacket, cover (3) , and exterior of tachometer and hour-meter (8) using clean cloth moistened with detergent. Dry using cleanc l o t h .cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.W e a r p r o t e c t i v e g o g g l e s a n d g l o v e s a n d u s e o n l y i n a w e l l v e n t i l a t eda r e a . If you be-c o m e d i z z y w h i l e u s i n g c l e a n i n g s o l v e n t , g e t f r e s h a i r a n d m e d i c a la t t e n t i o n i m m e d i a t e l y.If contact with skin or clothes is made, flushwith large amounts of water.I f c o n t a c t w i t h e y e s i s m a d e , w a s h e y eswith water and get medical aid immediately.(3) Clean all other metallic parts using clean cloth moistened with cleaningsolvent P-D-680. Dry using clean cloths.INSPECTION(1)(2)(3)(4)5-66Inspect tachometer and hourmeter (8) for cracked or broken case and dam-aged threads. Inspect face for cracked glass and broken or bent pointer.If any of the above conditions are seen, or if pointer or hourmetermechanism is binding or inoperative, replace tachometer and hourmeter.Inspect cable (1) jacket for cracks and kinks and cable nuts for cracksand broken threads. Position cable on flat surface, rotate male end withfingers, and watch female cable end. If female cable end does not turn,cable is broken. If cable flops over after initial turning motion, cableis kinked.If any of the above conditions are seen, replace cable.Inspect cover (3) for cracks, scratches, and distortion. Remove shallowscratches using plastic cleaning compound and clean cloths. Replace coverif cracked or no longer transparent due to distortion or deep scratches.Inspect remaining parts for cracks, breaks, d e f o r m a t i o n , d i s t o r t i o n , orstripped threads; replace as necessary.
