Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and don-t breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don-t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made. flushwith large amounts of water. If contact with eyeswith water and get medical aid immediately.Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will notonly with effective chip guarding and personalis made, wash eyesexceed 30 psi. Useprotective equipment(goggles/shield, gloves,. .etc). Failure to do so could cause seriousinjury to eyes and possible blindness. If you hurt your eyes or if aforeign object is blown into your eyes, seek medical attentionimmediately.(1) Clean bearings (18, 20, and 26) by immersing in cleaning solvent P-D-680and slowly moving up and down. Remove bearings from cleaning solvent andstrike larger side of cone against a block of wood to dislodge solidifiedparticles of lubricant. Immerse again in cleaning solvent and repeatabove until bearings are clean. Dry using compressed air. Direct airstream across bearing to avoid spinning. Don’t spin bearings when drying;rotate bearings slowly by hand to facilitateings, lubricate using clean lubricating oil.area.(2) Clean all other parts using cleaning solventpressed air or clean cloths.drying. After drying bear-Keep bearings in a cleanP-D-680. Dry using com-INSPECTIONNOTEReplace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.(1)Inspect bearings (18, 20, and 26) by rotating and checking that it turnssmoothly. Check bearing balls and rollers for flat areas, pitting,scored, scratched , chipped, or cracked races.( 2)Inspect drive gear (25) for chipped, nicked, burred, or broken teeth.(3) Discard seals (7, 11, and 27); use new seals.(4) Inspect retaining rings (8 and 19) for nicks or distortion.(5) Check flex plate disks (3 and 4) for cracks or other damage.(6)Inspect remaining parts for cracks, scratches, burrs, or damaged threads.4-102
