Repeat step (3) above and press
If converter ground sleeve (10)
must be replaced, remove four
capscrews (9). Put torque con-
verter housing in hydraulic
press. Place a 3-1/2 inches in-
side diameter sleeve under con-
verter ground sleeve (10) to
support center of torque con-
verter housing (20). Press
converter ground sleeve from
torque converter housing.
If housing sleeve (11) must be
replaced, install puller as
shown and remove housing
sleeve.
If necessary, remove four plugs
(12 thru 14) from torque con-
verter housing (20). Discard
plugs.
If necessary, remove two dowel
pins (15) from torque converter
housing (20). Discard dowel
pins.
If problem exists in lubrica-
tion regulator (16, 17, and
18), twist valve guide pin (16)
from lower torque converter
housing bore and remove valve
driven gear from bearing (8).
guide pin, lubrication regula-
tor spring (17), and valve
(18). Discard damaged items.
If problem exists in converter pressure regulator (16, 18, and 19), twist
valve guide pin (16) from upper torque converter housing bore and remove
valve guide pin, converter pressure regulator spring (19), and valve
(18). Discard damaged items.
Remove and discard seal (21) from drive gear and shaft (23).
