Install forward clutch carrier
(13 thru 17) and reverse ring
gear (5) on reverse planetary
pinion. Mesh reverse ring gear
(5) with reverse planetary
pinion by rotating forward
clutch carrier.
Lubricate surface of anchor and
pin assembly using lubricating
oil.
Install a friction clutch plate
(2). Lubricate clutch plate us-
ing lubricating oil.
Install a metal clutch plate (3) with slots of clutch plate engaging
anchor pins. Lubricate using lubricating oil.
Install a friction clutch plate (2). Lubricate using lubricating oil.
Install forward ring
clutch plates (2 and
clutch carrier (17).
Repeat steps (4) and
gear (4). Turn gear as necessary to aline splines of
3) and engage teeth of pinion gears (15) in forward
(5) above
until you have installed all
eight clutch plates (2 and 3).
Install springs and guide pins.
Lower forward clutch piston
housing (12) and forward clutch
piston (7) onto pins and
springs. Be sure passage in
piston housing is alined with
passage in transmission hous-
ing.
Install two 3/8-16 by 2-1/2
inches capscrews in opposite
holes of forward clutch piston
housing (12).
Tighten capscrews evenly to compress springs. When forward clutch piston
housing (12) is against transmission housing, install and tighten eight
capscrews (1) to hold piston housing in place.
