NOTE
In following step, install washers (4 thru 6) as required to obtain less
than 0.125 inch clearance between trunnion support and trunnion assembly
(9).
Using 1-3/4 inches diameter brass rod and hammer, drive two pivot pins (7)
inward through rear chassis (10) trunnion support bores. Drive just enough to
permit installation of washers (4 thru 6) between trunnion assembly and trun-
nion support. After washers are installed, drive pivot pins into bores until
undercut recess of pivot pin body is flush with surface of rear chassis
trunnion support.
Position two trunnion retainers (3) against trunnion support and in undercut
recess of pivot pins (7) and install two new lock plates (2).
Install and tighten four capscrews (1) to 150 to 180 lb-ft.
Bend opposite corners of each lock plate (2) over capscrew (1) heads.
Disconnect and remove chain hoist from trunnion assembly (9).
Connect lubrication hoses and fittings to rear chassis trunnion assembly
(refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Install rear axle (page 3-388).
Lubricate trunnion assembly lubrication fittings.
