TM 5-3805-262-34 3-4. ALTERNATOR REPAIR (CONT) DISASSEMBLY (SHEET 3 OF 4) w. Mount pulley (40) in vise with soft jaws, loosen lock nut (38), and remove pulley (40) from vise. x. Remove locknut (38), washer (39), pulley (40), and fan (41). y. Remove dust shield (42) and outer collar (43) from rotor (44) shaft. NOTE Perform following steps only if inspection indicates need for replace- ment of parts. z. Remove rotor (44): (1) Slide paper tube slip ring end of onto rot or (44) shaft to protect slip rings. (2) Position drive end frame (52) on hydraulic press table blocks. Leave enough space between hydraulic press table blocks for removal of rotor. Do not allow rotor to fall when pressed out of drive end frame. (3) Press rotor (44) from drive end aa. ab. frame (52) using hydraulic press and appropriate driver on center of rotor shaft. Remove three capscrews (45), retainer (46), and inner collar (47) from drive end frame (52). Pry felt washer (48) from retainer (46). Discard felt washer (48). 3-206
