3-7. TRANSMISSION MAINTENANCE
a. Pressure Tests.
This task covers testing of transmission. Testing consists of
performing main pressure check, cooling circuit check, and oil flow out of transmis-
sion check. Do these tests whenever you suspect problems in the transmission.
TOOLS: No. 1 Common Organizational Maintenance Tool Kit
Fixed open end wrench set
Pressure gage, zero to 250 psi
Flowmeter (FSCM 45225 PN CAS-10280)
Flowmeter fitting kit (FSCM 45225 PN CAS-10106)
MATERIALS/PARTS: Lubricating oil (Appendix C, item 15)
PERSONNEL REQUIRED: Two Construction Equipment Mechanics MOS 62B

Check transmission oil level (refer to TM 5-3805-262-10). Add oil as
necessary.
Perform engine stall tests (page 3-19) to be sure problem is in transmis-
sion.
Check adjustment of control valve linkage (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Adjust control valve linkage as necessary.
Remove clutch pressure switch from transmission control valve (refer to
TM 5-3805-262-20).
Connect pressure gage
hose to transmission
control valve port from
which clutch pressure
switch was removed. Be
sure pressure gage hose
is long enough so that
you can read gage from
operator's seat in cab.
