If CONV TEMP gagepointer is not approximately1/2 inch from bottom of gage,go to step (10) below other-wise go to step (14) below.Be sure parking brake valve knob is pushed in. Press brake treadle andvalve and move transmission control lever to H position.Increase engine speed to full throttle and hold for 30 seconds.Set transmission control lever to N position and operate engine at idlespeed for ten seconds.Repeat steps (10) through (12) above until CONV TEMP gage needle is ap-proximately 1/2 inch from bottom of gage.Increase engine speed to 2000 rpm. Be sure transmission control lever isin N position. Flowmeter should indicate at least 18.5 gallons per min-ute. If flow is less than 18.5 gallons per minute, charging pump is wornor there is internal leakage in the transmission. Replace charging pump(page 3-344) and repeat this check. If flow is still less than 18.5 gal-lons per minute, replace transmission (page 3-328).Turn off engine and disconnect flowmeter. Reconnect oil cooler hose dis-connected above to fitting installed in transmission.3-323
