CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND REPAIR
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately.
If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water.
If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.

Clean all metal parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using clean
cloths.
Clean diaphragm (8) by wiping with clean cloth.
Inspect cover (3) terminals and switch contact (6) for pitting and burned
areas. Use abrasive cloth to remove pitting or burned areas from cover
terminals and switch contact. Replace cover and switch contact if badly
pitted or burned.
Inspect body (14) for cracks, breaks, chipping, or damaged threads. Re-
place double check valve and stop light switch as an assembly if body re-
quires replacement.
NOTE
Replace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.
Inspect spring (5) for cracks, distortion, or permanent set.
Inspect shuttle (11) rubber ends for wear or damage. Check fit of shuttle
in shuttle guide (12). Shuttle must move freely inside shuttle guide. If
it does not move freely, replace both parts.
Inspect diaphragm (8) for tears, cracks, breaks, or other damage.
Check piston (7) for cracks, breaks, burrs, or other damage. Remove burrs
using fine abrasive cloth. Put piston in bore in body (14) and check that
it moves freely without binding or sticking. Replace if it does not move
freely.
Inspect remaining parts for cracks, distortion, or thread damage.
