TM 5-3805-262-34CLEANING, INSPECTION, AND REPAIRDry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilatedarea. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and don’t breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don’t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately.If contact with skin or clothes is made, flushwith large amounts of water.If contact with eyes is made, wash eyeswith water and get medical aid immediately.(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)Clean all metal parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using cleancloths.Clean diaphragm (8) by wiping with clean cloth.Inspect cover (3) terminals and switch contact (6) for pitting and burnedareas. Use abrasive cloth to remove pitting or burned areas from coverterminals and switch contact. Replace cover and switch contact if badlypitted or burned.Inspect body (14) for cracks, breaks, chipping, or damaged threads. Re-place double check valve and stop light switch as an assembly if body re-quires replacement.NOTEReplace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.Inspect spring (5) for cracks, distortion, or permanent set.Inspect shuttle (11) rubber ends for wear or damage. Check fit of shuttlein shuttle guide (12). Shuttle must move freely inside shuttle guide. Ifit does not move freely, replace both parts.Inspect diaphragm (8) for tears, cracks, breaks, or other damage.Check piston (7) for cracks, breaks, burrs, or other damage. Remove burrsusing fine abrasive cloth. Put piston in bore in body (14) and check thatit moves freely without binding or sticking. Replace if it does not movefreely.Inspect remaining parts for cracks, distortion, or thread damage.3-461
