2-5. FUEL SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT)
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. FUEL INJECTION PUMP NOT OPERATING PROPERLY (Cont).
Step 4. (Cont).
Remove nut, lock washer, and coup-
ling half from camshaft. If neces-
sary, use coupling puller to remove
coupling half.
Install pilot ring, timing coupling
and drive coupling on fuel injection
pump camshaft.
Aline fuel injection pump drive
coupling with test bench drive coup-
ling and tighten test bench jaws.
Remove fuel feed pump (page 3-130).
Using oiler, put engine lubricating
oil in fuel feed pump port until oil
level is just below port to prevent
scoring roller tappets and camshaft
lobes.
Connect test lines between fuel in-
jection pump and test bench nozzle
holders and open bleed screws.
Connect test bench fuel fe
injection pump. Port is 1/
