3-22. CONTROL VALVE ASSEMBLY MAINTENANCE (CONT)

Backup ring (FSCM 10988 PN A41346)
O-ring (FSCM 10988 PN A7982)
O-ring (FSCM 10988 PN F62114)
O-ring (FSCM 10988 PN A30843)

DISASSEMBLY
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don-t smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.
(1) Clean all dirt and grease from control valve assembly using cleaning sol-
vent P-D-680. Dry using clean cloths.
(2) Put control valve assembly on clean work bench.
(3) Remove cap (1).
(4) Remove three backup rings (2 and 3) and O-rings (4 thru 6). Discard
backup rings and O-rings.
(5) Remove spring (7) and poppet (8).
(6) Remove seat (9) only if necessary for replacement.
