FUEL FILTER BASES REPLACEMENT - CONTINUED

PRIMARY FUEL FILTER BASE REMOVAL

1.
Disconnect all fuel lines from primary fuel filter base assembly (WP 0038 00).
2.
Remove all fittings from primary fuel filter base assembly and set aside for re-use (WP 0038 00).
3.
Disconnect wiring harness (1).
4.
Remove two bolts (2) and washers (3) from primary fuel filter base assembly (4).
5.
Remove primary fuel filter base assembly (4) from machine.
6.
Remove two plugs (5) and washers (6) and set aside for re-use.

PRIMARY FUEL FILTER BASE CLEANING AND INSPECTION
WARN I N G
Solvent cleaning compound MIL-PRF-680 Type III is an environmentally compliant and low-toxic material.
However, it may be irritating to the eyes and skin. Use protective gloves and goggles. Use in well-ventilated
areas. Keep away from open flames and other sources of ignition. Failure to do so may result in injury or
death to personnel.
Particles blown by compressed air are hazardous. DO NOT exceed 15 psi (103 kPa) nozzle pressure when dry-
ing parts with compressed air. DO NOT direct compressed air against human skin. Make sure air stream is
directed away from user and other personnel in the area. To prevent injury, user must wear protective goggles
or face shield. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to personnel.
1.
Clean fuel filter base assemblies with solvent cleaning compound and dry with compressed air.
2.
Inspect fuel filter base assemblies for wear, pitting, cracks, or corrosion and replace if necessary.

PRIMARY FUEL FILTER BASE INSTALLATION
1.
Install two washers (6) and plugs (5) on primary fuel filter base assembly (4).
2.
Position primary fuel filter base assembly (4) on machine and install two washers (3) and bolts (2).
3.
Connect wiring harness (1).
4.
Install all fittings and connect all hoses and lines to primary fuel filter base assembly (WP 0038 00).
5.
6.
Run engine while checking for fuel system leaks (TM 5-3805-290-10).
