Install plate (2) and five bolts (1) on machine.

FLUSHING

Cooling system capacity is 11.1 gal. (42 L).
1.
Fill radiator with clean water.
2.
Run engine until normal operating temperature is reached (TM 5-3805-290-10).
3.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
4.
Drain cooling system. Refer to Draining in this work package.
5.
Repeat steps 1 thru 4 until draining water is clear.

FILLING

Cooling system capacity is 11.1 gal. (42 L).
1.
Mix 11.1 gal. (42 L) of coolant solution: fifty percent water, fifty percent antifreeze.
2.
Ensure drain valve is closed. Add coolant solution slowly, 5 gal. (19 L) per minute or less, until level of coolant solution
is at full mark on coolant tank.
3.
With cooling system pressure cap removed, run engine until thermostat opens and coolant level stabilizes (TM 5-3805-
290-10).
4.
Recheck coolant solution level. Maintain coolant level between ADD and FULL marks on overflow tank. Add coolant
solution as needed.
5.
Install cooling system pressure cap (TM 5-3805-290-10).
6.
Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
7.
Check for cooling system leaks.
8.
Install left-side covers (WP 0110 00).
