DRIVE SHAFT MAINTENANCE - CONTINUED

REAR U-JOINTS REMOVAL
1.
Remove rear drive shaft assembly (6). Refer to Rear
Drive Shaft Removal in this work package.
2.
Remove four snap rings (23) and U-joints (24 and 25)
from rear drive shaft assembly (6).
REAR U-JOINTS INSTALLATION
1.
Install U-joints (24 and 25) and four snap rings (23) in
rear drive shaft assembly (6).
2.
Install rear drive shaft assembly (6). Refer to Rear
Drive Shaft Installation in this work package.

CENTER U-JOINTS REMOVAL
1.
Remove center drive shaft assembly (13). Refer to Center Drive Shaft Removal in this work package.
2.
Remove four snap rings (26) and two U-joints (27) from center drive shaft assembly (13).
3.
Remove cup (28) and separate two halves of center drive shaft assembly (13).
CENTER U-JOINTS INSTALLATION
1.
Install cup (28) and join two halves of center drive shaft assembly (13).
2.
Install two U-joints (27) and four snap rings (26) in center drive shaft assembly (13).
3.
Install center drive shaft assembly (13). Refer to Center Drive Shaft Installation in this work package.
FRONT U-JOINT REMOVAL
1.
Remove front drive shaft assembly (21). Refer to Front Drive Shaft Removal in this work package.
2.
Remove two snap rings (29) and U-joint (30) from front drive shaft assembly (21).
FRONT U-JOINT INSTALLATION
1.
Install U-joint (30) and four snap rings (29) in front drive shaft assembly (21).
2.
Install front drive shaft assembly (21). Refer to Front Drive Shaft Installation in this work package.
CARRIER BEARING REMOVAL
1.
Remove front drive shaft assembly (21). Refer to Front Drive Shaft Removal in this work package.
2.
Separate slip yoke (14) and front drive shaft assembly (21) at center bearing (17).
3.
Remove center bearing (17) from front drive shaft assembly (21).
CARRIER BEARING INSTALLATION
1.
Install center bearing (17) on front drive shaft assembly (21).
2.
Install slip yoke (14) on front drive shaft assembly (21).
3.
Install front drive shaft assembly (21). Refer to Front Drive Shaft Installation in this work package.
