MALFUNCTION
Excessive exhaust smoke at normal operating speed.
WARNING
If NBC exposure is suspected, personnel wearing protective equipment should handle all
air cleaner media. Consult your NBC Officer or NBC NCO for appropriate handling or
disposal procedures.
Refer to FM 3-11.3, Multiservice Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Chemical,
Biological, Radiological, and Nuclear Contamination Avoidance, and FM 3-11.5
Multiservice Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures for Chemical, Biological, Radiological,
and Nuclear Decontamination.
NBC contaminated filters must be handled using adequate precautions and must be
disposed of by trained personnel.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury or death to personnel.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Step 1.
Check if engine malfunction indicator lamp is on.
a.
If lamp is off but problem still exists, notify Field Maintenance.
Step 2.
Check air filter element (WP 0021).
a.
Clean or replace primary air filter (WP 0021).
b.
If secondary air filter element is clogged, notify Field Maintenance.
c.
If problem still exists, proceed to step 3.
Step 3.
Drain water from fuel/water separator (WP 0020).
a.
If no water present and problem still exists, notify Field Maintenance.
MALFUNCTION
Engine oil pressure light and alarm are on.
CAUTION
When alarm sounds, shut down machine immediately. Failure to follow this caution can
result in damage to machine.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Check engine oil level (WP 0020).
a.
If engine oil is low, fill to correct level (WP 0020).
b.
If problem still exists, notify Field Maintenance.
