3. Remove right engine access panel
1405-5 Solenoid Valve 5
(WP 0348).
(Third Gear) Current Below
4. Disconnect connector P-C2
Normal - Continued
(WP 0012, Figure 97) from clutch
solenoid valve 5 (third gear).
5. Install a jumper wire between
terminal 1 and terminal 2 of
connector P-C2 (WP 0012,
Figure 97).
6. Turn battery disconnect switch and
ignition switch to ON position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
7. Turn transmission control lever to
3 and push to F (forward) position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
8. Using MSD, check for active
Diagnostic Code 1405-5 Solenoid
diagnostic codes (WP 0008).
Valve 5 (Third Gear) Current Below
Normal Remains Active Proceed to
Test Step 3.
Diagnostic Code 1405-6 Solenoid
Valve 5 (Third Gear) Current Above
Normal Becomes Active Replace
solenoid valve 5 (third gear) (WP 0310).
Proceed to Test Step 5.
Test Step 3. Test Wiring Harness for
High Resistance or Open.
1. Turn ignition switch and battery
disconnect switch to OFF position
(TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Remove left lower cab access
panels (WP 0347).
3. Remove transmission ECM cover
(WP 0266).
4. Disconnect connector C-C12
(WP 0012, Figure 26) from
Transmission ECM J1.
