WARNING
DO NOT disconnect or remove any hydraulic system line or fitting unless engine is shut
down and hydraulic system pressure has been relieved. Tighten all connections before
applying pressure. Escaping hydraulic fluid under pressure can penetrate the skin,
causing injury to personnel.
At operating temperature, hydraulic oil is hot. Allow hydraulic oil to cool before removing
any hydraulic fitting.
To prevent injury to personnel, wear protective eye covering and gloves.
Sudden movement of machine can cause injury to personnel on or near the machine.
Failure to follow these warnings may result in injury to personnel.

Do not perform this procedure unless directed here from troubleshooting or a repair
procedure. Failure to follow this caution may result in an improper diagnosis.
1. Remove right lower cab access panels (WP 0347).
2. Turn steering wheel left and right until wheels do not move (TM 5-3805-298-10) to release all hydraulic
pressure.
3. Apply sealant on threads of 5,800 psi (40,000 kPa) gauge (Figure 2, Item 1) and a 6V-3966 valved nipple
(Figure 2, Item 3) from pressure gauge kit.
4. Install adapter (Figure 2, Item 2) on 5,800 psi (40,000 kPa) gauge (Figure 2, Item 1).
5. Install 6V-3966 valved nipple (Figure 2, Item 3) on adapter (Figure 2, Item 2).
6. Connect hose 177-7861 (Figure 2, Item 4), from pressure gauge kit, to 6V-3966 valved nipple
(Figure 2, Item 3).
