CHARGE ACCUMULATOR
000382
WARNING
Dry nitrogen is the only gas approved for use in accumulator. Any other gas may cause
failure of accumulator or injury to personnel.
NOTE
Do not charge accumulator while accumulator is installed on machine.
Only a new accumulator should be charged before installation.
1. Connect nitrogen charging kit regulator fitting (Figure 8, Item 4) to nitrogen cylinder.
2. Make sure that needle valve (Figure 8, Item 1) is closed and then open valve of nitrogen cylinder.
3. Remove protective cap (Figure 8, Item 5) from accumulator valve (Figure 8, Item 6).
4. Install nitrogen chuck (Figure 8, Item 10) on accumulator valve (Figure 8, Item 6).
5. Open valve handle on nitrogen chuck (Figure 8, Item 10).
6. Adjust screw (Figure 8, Item 9) on regulator (Figure 8, Item 8) until pressure gauge (Figure 8, Item 3) reads
correctly. Charge pressure of two accumulators should be 335-365 psi (2,309-2,516 kPa) and pressure of
other two accumulators should be 800-880 psi (5,515-6,067 kPa). Open needle valve (Figure 8, Item 1) and
allow nitrogen to flow into accumulator (Figure 8, Item 7).
7. When pressure on pressure gauge (Figure 8, Item 2) matches pressure on pressure gauge (Figure 8, Item 3),
close needle valve (Figure 8, Item 1) ).
8. Wait 60 seconds to ensure that pressure remains stable. If pressure decreases, repeat steps 5 through 7 until
pressure remains stable.
9. Close valve on nitrogen cylinder.
10. Close valve handle on nitrogen chuck (Figure 8, Item 10).
11. Remove nitrogen chuck (Figure 8, Item 10) from accumulator valve (Figure 8, Item 6).
12. Install protective cap (Figure 8, Item 5) on accumulator valve (Figure 8, Item 6).
13. Remove nitrogen charging kit regulator fitting (Figure 8, Item 4) from nitrogen cylinder.
