NOTE
The procedure for tie rod removal and replacement is identical for left-hand and right-hand
side. Left-hand tie rod is shown in this procedure.
1. Use steering piston tool (Figure 6, Item 6) to hold cylinder shaft (Figure 6, Item 1). Install inner tie rod end
(Figure 6, Item 2) on cylinder shaft. Torque to 222 lb-ft (300 Nm).
NOTE
Install outer tie rod end on inner tie rod threaded shaft as noted during removal.
2. Install outer tie rod end (Figure 6, Item 3) on inner tie rod end (Figure 6, Item 2).
3. Install tie rod ball joint (Figure 6, Item 4) in knuckle (Figure 6, Item 5).
