3-25. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. HYDRAULIC PUMP NOISY.
Step 1.
Check if mounting capscrews are
l o o s e.
a. If mounting capscrews are
loose, tighten to 135 to 165
l b - f t t o r q u e .
b. If mounting capscrews are
tight, go to step 2 below.
Step 2.
Check if nuts securing hydraulic
pump sections are tight .
a . I f n u t s a r e l o o s e , t i g h t e n to
200 lb-ft torque.
b. If nuts are tight, go to step 3
below.
Step 3.
Check hoses, lines, and fittings connected to hydraulic pump for
hydraulic oil leakage.
a . I f h y d r a u l i c o i l l e a k a g e i s s e e n , t i g h t e n f i t t i n g s . If
tightening does no good, replace defective hose, lines or
f i t t i n g ( p a g e 1 1 - 1 8 ) .
b. If hydraulic oil leakage is not seen, go to step 4 below.
