Check hydraulic oil for contamination.Take a sample of hydraulic oil and check if it is dark and thick,has an odor of burned oil, particles of metal or dirt in oil, ora p p e a r s t h a t w a t e r i s i n o i l .If any of the above is seen, oil is contaminated.a. If oil is contaminated, drain hydraulic system and cleanstrainer (page 11-79), and replace oil filters (pages 8-40 and11-82).b.
