F a i l u r e t o d o s o c o u l d c a u s e s e r i o u s i n j u r y o r d e a t h d u e t ochassis pivoting and crushing you when you are working in area betweenfront and rear chassis.Tell assistant to start engine, apply parking brake valve, and placetransmission control lever in R (reverse) position.Check that multimeter indicates continuity.a .b.If multimeter does not indicate continuity, shut off engine, andreplace back-up alarm switch (page 12-2).If multimeter indicates continuity, shut off engine, andreconnect wiring harness wire lead-terminals to–back-up alarmswitch wire lead terminals by grasping with fingers, aliningthem, and firmly pushing together. Go to step 3 below.Step 3. Unlock and open radiator grille.Connect multimeter betweenback-up alarm terminal to whichblack-red wire connected andchassis frame.T e l l a s s i s t a n t t o s t a r t e n g i n e,apply parking brake valve, andplace transmission control leverin R (reverse) position.Check that multimeter indicates2 4 v o l t s.a. If multimeter indicates 24v o l t s , t e l l a s s i s t a n t t o s h utoff engine. Connect multimeterbetween other back-up alarmterminal and chassis frame andcheck for continuity.If continuity obtained, replace back-up alarm (page 12-2).
