Use pry bar to separate conver-
ter cover (6) from converter
pump (29).
Remove turbine housing (21) and
associated parts (15 thru 20)
as an assembly from converter
ground sleeve.
Remove seal (7) from converter
pump (29).
Using retaining ring pliers,
remove retaining ring (8) se-
curing stator (9).
Remove stator (9) and spacer
(10) from converter ground
sleeve.
Using hammer and chisel, bend
tabs of lock plates (23) away
from capscrews (22) heads.
Loosen and remove two cap-
screws. Capscrews must be at
opposite sides of converter
pump (29) to allow installation
of puller screws.
Install puller screws in holes
of converter pump (29) from
which two capscrews (22) were
removed.
Operate puller and pull conver-
ter pump (29) from its seat in
converter ground sleeve. Remove
puller from converter pump.
Remove converter pump (29) and
associated parts (22 thru 28)
from converter ground sleeve.
Remove seal (11) from converter
ground sleeve.
