NOTE
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE:
parking brake removed (refer to TM
5-3805-262-20), front cover removed (page 4-136), and high range clutch
and transfer gear removed (page 4-174).
REMOVAL (SHEET 1 OF 2)

Remove two capscrews (1) from opposite sides of forward clutch piston
housing (12).
(2)
Install two 3/8-16 by 2-1/2 inches capscrews in the two vacated capscrew
(1) holes. These will be used to release spring tension after remainder
of capscrews (1) are removed.
(3) Remove remaining eight capscrews (1).
(4) Loosen two restraining capscrews evenly and remove.
(5) Lift forward clutch piston housing (12) and associated parts (7 thru 11)
from transmission housing.
